Is Carrier Transicold a good choice for refrigerated fleets?

It’s a solid option for most fleets. Carrier builds truck and trailer refrigeration units in a few different configurations standard, multi-temperature, and other specialized setups, so there’s usually something that lines up with what you’re hauling.

Does CT West provide transport refrigeration service in Salt Lake City?

Yes, service, maintenance, repairs, parts, and general fleet support all run out of their Salt Lake City location.

Can I rent a refrigerated trailer instead of buying one?

You can. CT West rents out refrigerated trailers on flexible terms, which works well if you’re dealing with a short-term jump in demand rather than a permanent need for more equipment.

What are cold chain solutions used for?

They’re what keeps food, beverages, pharmaceuticals, and other temperature-sensitive goods at the right temperature the whole way from pickup to delivery.

How can I choose the right Carrier Transicold reefer for my fleet?

That depends on a few things like your cargo, trailer size, temperature range, and the routes you’re running. Talking to a reefer specialist is usually the fastest way to sort through the options and land on something that fits.

What are Carrier Transicold parts?

A: Carrier Transicold parts are the components — compressors, sensors, belts, filter-driers, electronics, and more — that make up a Carrier reefer refrigeration unit. They’re built specifically for Carrier’s transport refrigeration systems used on trailers, trucks, and vans.

Q: How often should filter-driers be replaced on a reefer unit?

A: Most fleets replace filter-driers on a scheduled interval tied to run hours or after any major refrigerant system service, since a saturated drier can no longer protect the compressor from moisture and contaminants.

Q: What’s the difference between genuine Carrier reefer parts and aftermarket parts?

A: Genuine parts are manufactured to Carrier Transicold’s original tolerances, which matters most for refrigerant-circuit and compressor components. Aftermarket parts can be a reasonable cost-saver for low-tolerance hardware but carry more risk on anything that affects cooling performance.

Q: Is it worth stocking a spare compressor?

A: For smaller fleets, usually not — compressor failures are infrequent enough that fast sourcing beats carry the cost of a spare. Larger fleets with 50+ units often find the downtime savings to justify keeping one or two on hand.

Q: How long does a typical reefer parts repair take with the part in stock?

A: Most electrical and filter-drier replacements take a few hours when the part is on hand. Without it, the same repair can stretch into days depending on freight and part availability.
